6th Annual Bull Sale

It is hard to believe how fast the Sale comes and goes.
I also, can't believe that sale #6 is over and in the books!
They say...Time flies when you're having fun! I say...Time flies when you're super duper busy! Everything sale related, finally after 6 years is a smooth sailing ship. Now if we could somehow figure out how to get a guarantee of 30+ buyers present, everything would be absolutely perfect!

We had a very nice set of bulls this year. (Well, we do every year.)
We also had a lot of interest early on in the offering.  We try to be unique and have something different than the majority of sales out there. We honestly can say that we beat to our own drum and use genetics that are proven and that get the job done. This year we had a lot of Fleckvieh influence in the bulls and hope to continue to offer the "Fleck Effect" to our customers. This Simmental breed is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. On my bucket list is a trip to the Swiss Alps, Germany and Austria. I would love to visit where these dual-purpose cattle originated from.

Sale day was full of blue skies and a lot of sunshine. Something that had been foreign here the days prior. I think everyone was anxious to get out and enjoy the weather which made for a good crowd. This year we fed around 225 people. Up from last year. It is always a good feeling to see people! I wish I could express in words the feelings and emotions that we as owners go through on sale day. There are so many unknowns and variables, highs and lows! In the end all we can ask for is a beautiful day, a good home for the bulls, a happy customer and a good sale average!

As always, looking forward to and counting down until next year!

My Lil Wrestler

I swore that my kids would never wrestle! Especially after I saw all that my brothers endured taking up the sport. That all changed after one YouTube video watching a wrestling match.
All Clay could talk about for weeks was practice and Saturday matches, both of which he looked forward to all week. It is definitely not a sport for the faint of heart. I ended up having to coach him at most matches due to the season falling so close to the Bull Sale. I really had no idea what I was doing. I knew he never wanted to be on his back for too long, always choose the down position and to get up and get away from them if they have a hold of you. He got pretty good at hearing my voice. One of the matches in Marsh Valley he pinned the kids within 2 seconds flat! He looked over at me with disappointment in his eyes...he was wanting to wrestle and instead he had won and it was over. Clay liked to wrestle the entire 3 rounds vs. pinning and winning getting a shorter amount of mat time. That's my boy Clay! Such a go getter. He is a natural athlete! He is also a worker! He never gives up and gives everything his absolute best. I hope they are all qualities that follow him through life.  I love this little boy so much,  I only wish he would stop growing up on me.

5, 6, 7 and 8

This sweet little babe is growing up way too fast! I am trying to enjoy every second knowing that she is for sure our last! It really is sad how in a blink of an eye our kids grow up right before eyes.

5 MONTHS
This month we decided to give Tanna her very first haircut. (At Grandma Jills). She started to play with toys. The obsession with Momma's water bottle also began this month. Tanna Jill is happy, happy, HAPPY! She hardly ever makes a fuss or a peep for that matter. She was sleeping through the night at 5 months ( and had been since like 5 days) and is an awesome little traveler. We got an Idaho Fuzzy puppy over Christmas. We named him Chewy! Tanna is scared to death of him! She is mesmerized by all of the kiddos, especially Clay. She knows her name and will laugh and smile at you if you say it. Tanna is very strong and at 5 months can roll back and forth, over and over and over again!

6 MONTHS
1/2 a year old!
This cutie patootie is growing like a weed, and with that brings an appetite! I finally decided to start feeding her instead of waiting until the end of the 6th month. It took a couple of days for the Plum to arrive, so we improvised with what we had on hand. Green peas and apple sauce!

She turned 6 months old on or around the Super Bowl, so we decided to identify the month with the helmets.

7 MONTHS
Tanna is such dream baby! So sweet and so lovable!
At 7 months she sits up really well. And can maneuver around the area she is in quite well. And you better watch out if anything is within reach because she can get it!
She loves to EAT! Everything! I have to be really careful, she is the only child out of 5 that likes to put things in her mouth.
And she thinks she is one of the big kids. She loves to be around all of her siblings.
Tanna has been getting up on her knees and rocking. I think it is only a matter of time before she figures out how to crawl.
This little love is very predictable. Loves her naps and is a great sleeper.

8 MONTHS
Tanna is changing so fast and is quickly moving more into that toddler stage. I don't think I am quite ready for that yet. She was suppose to be a baby for a LOOOOOOOONG time! I think with each child the faster they tend to mature. It might have something to do with all the other kids they have to look up to and want to keep up.
Tanna is such a good eater. She loves the Plum and wants to eat what we are eating. She is still toothless at this point and I am kind of getting worried. I sure hope she has teeth under those gums!
This little love figured out how to crawl backwards right at 8 months. She would get stuck in the most random places. Under the piano, couch, beds, fireplace, kitchen table etc. You wouldn't even know where she was sometimes, until she started squawking for help. Finally on 4/23 she figured out how to go forward and there is no stopping her now. She is into everything!
With Spring finally here, she has finally been able to spend some time outside and loves it! She loves the change of scenery and the pace.
Tanna gives me, her momma, the absolute best kisses the entire world. She will also pat us on our back indicating that she is happy and content. It is the best feeling in the world.

I am so glad that we have this sweet girl in our family. She completes us and brings so much joy and happiness into our home. She also has awesome siblings who love her and adore her. I am grateful for the sweet spirits have been given stewardship over. I pray I do them justice!

This parent thing is hard...but yet so rewarding!
