Spring Fever

“It’s spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you’ve got it, you want—oh you don’t quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!”
 ----Mark Twain

I’ll admit it; I’ve been overcome with spring fever! As Mother Nature ushers in spring, I can’t help but look forward to all the exciting things that come with the change of seasons!
Oh yes! That feeling! That longing for spring and for the world to burst into bloom…
I am sun-starved. Pale, pasty and blinking at the bright light like a mole person. My bones are cold and all I want to do is stretch out on a warm rock like a lizard and bake in the sun.

In the grip of spring fever, I want to be!

I have come to the conclusion that waiting for seasons to change, is a little like falling in love. The anticipation and the excitement of it all. That feeling of “yes, this is what I have been waiting for”. The warmth that floods your soul makes everything look fresher and more alive. Spring is a magical and an amazing moment for me. It is nearly indescribable. My heart feels light and buoyant. I love to smell the new growth of the season!

But let’s not forget:
If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant;
if we did not sometimes taste adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome. ---Ann Bradstreet
