Funny Boy

This cute little boy is so funny; he makes me laugh all of the time. He has such a cute personality. This one night in particular he was watching me make dinner and then all of a sudden he started attacking the lettuce…it was hilarious! That was the night he decided he needs entertainment and will no longer hang out and watch because his hands are actually for something. It must be time to pull out the toys! I love this little guy.

4 Months

Clay Boone Johnson just turned 4 months old. 4 months?!?! Where the heck did time go?! This sweet boy has me wanting to remember so much about him.

  • He has the biggest smile. He can light up any room.
  • He wears a size 3 diaper.
  • He is 15 pounds 2 ounces.
  • He is 25 ½ inches tall.
  • He has yet to sleep completely through the night...like 12 hours...like my last 2 babies were doing by this age.
  • He is on a good schedule of eating every 3 hours during the day, and every 5 hours at night time
  • He loves to cuddle (I like this too!)
  • He loves to sleep on my bed.
  • He lights up when he sees his sisters. He loves his sisters. . It is so cute the way they both care for him too!
  • He loves to suck on his fist.
  • He can roll belly to back, but not back to belly.
  • He is content with anybody, very mellow and easy going. I love that!
  • He is still 100% breastfed, and doing great at it.
  • He is an observer; he looks around and around, studying everyone and his surroundings.
  • He loves to be home!
  • He is very loved and I couldn't imagine life with out him!

Clay, please stay little forever? I love you sweet baby boy! Now, let’s learn how to sleep through the night!

Willy Claus, Willy Claus

Willy Claus, Willy Claus, Little son of Santa Claus, hitched the reindeer to the sleigh, Willy Claus, Willy Claus, filling in for Santa Claus,

Cracked the whip and drove away,

“Giddy-up, Giddy-up”, Willy hollered “Giddy-up”

Driving Southward in the night,

Ting-l-ling, ting-l-ling, with the bells a jing-l-ling,

Willy soon was out of sight.

The girls were certain it wasn’t Santa Claus and possibly not an elf! So of course…he had to be Willy Claus! Jauncee sang this song at their Christmas concert and it is quite the catchy tune I think all of us have been singing it for a week straight! Fun Times!

Jeslyn asked Santa for a Violin and an American Girl Doll – Molly Macintire.

Jauncee asked Santa for a Violin too and the American Girl Doll Rebecca Rubin.

Clay, the only preference he probably has is something that will fit in his mouth!

Thanksgiving 2010

I have so much to be thankful for…my wonderful, hard-working husband, my 3 beautiful children, my health, my home, my family, my friends, the gospel and the list could go on and on. It is such a great time of year, I just love that Thanksgiving falls right before Christmas, because we get to take the time to reflect on what means the most to us, and then fall right into the Christmas Season. What a truly amazing time! It’s one of my favorite times of the year! (Although I could do without all of the hustle & bustle this time brings!)

We enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving feast here in Idaho at Dirk’s parent’s home with two of his other siblings and their families, his grandpa who is 93 and his Aunt Jeanne. The girls enjoyed playing with cousins and were even able to get in some sledding time!

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Oh the weather outside is frightful the, But the fire is so delightful, And since we've no place to go, Let it snow! let it snow! let it snow!

The Monday before Thanksgiving it started snowing and snowing and just kept on snowing. There was so much snow that they canceled school! The girls had fun braving the blizzard! From the pictures you can't really tell how deep the snow is but we did get about 18". The storm seemed to last an entire week or longer! I knew winter was coming, I just didn't expect it to come all at once! Although this last week or so it has been somewhat nice and a little on the warmer side. I like the warmer weather but not so much the mess it leaves behind!!

Sometime during the storm we woke up to the power being out and boy was it cold! The four of us were trying to stay warm, while our dearest Dirk had to work! (Hideous picture I know, but my sweet peas sure are cute)

Welcome Winter!

*3 Months*

This little chubby guy has hit the 3 month mark. It has gone by too fast!

At least I can say that I have enjoyed every minute of it.

There are some things I want to remember about this sweet little boy. I need to write them down before I forget.

He is an alright sleeper…some nights are awesome, some nights are rough! He’ll get the hang of it someday! :)

He is 100% breastfed and is doing fantastic! My girls keep begging me to pump so they can feed him, I haven’t yet and maybe should for them but why interrupt his eating when he is doing so well.

I love his cute little head and fuzzy hair. I find myself rubbing it while he eats!

The girls still love him to pieces! They are both very motherly…sometimes too motherly!

He is the biggest stretcher and loves to exercise his legs. It is so funny to watch him.

He loves to cuddle and be held.

He doesn’t like his pacifier very well. Although he will take it for the girls sometimes!

He is a little chunker! Not sure what he weighs but I am certain it is over 14 lbs!

He loves to coo, gurgle and smile. He loves his daddy and knows his voice.

He is definitely a morning person. I can’t believe how happy he is when he wakes up. It definitely makes me forget about the rough night we may have had!

He is so precious and I am so thankful we have him.

Volleyball

Jeslyn played on a youth volleyball team the past few months. She had a lot of fun and learned many techniques. I was impressed with her improvement from the 1st game to the last. Good Job JES!

Our Lil Spookers!

The girls were excitedly waiting for Halloween since the first day of autumn. We always decorate the house for fall to carry us through Thanksgiving. While we were hunting for all the fall decorations the girls came across the Halloween tote and couldn’t resist in bringing it out. They were entertained for hours-trying on every costume whether it fit or not. I was the mean mom this year that made them recycle “old” costumes. (I just don’t believe in spending $30 + dollars every year!) Jauncee changed her mind every other day…for the school parade she was a Bratz Cheerleader which worked out wonderfully because it was a costume that she could wear to school, then she wanted to be a witch and insisted on having a wig…which we found for a buck and lastly, the day of Halloween her final decision was to be Sleeping Beauty…she looked beautiful! Jeslyn wanted to be a Princess Vampire and never once changed her mind. Of course there were requirements—makeup, wig, teeth. I think she turned out to be ScArY...whatever she is! Our little guy Clay was a monkey! A cute little monkey that kept him nice and warm!

The girls had fun trick or treating and also enjoyed the trunk or treat in Soda that the local Businesses put on. It was a fun but super cold Halloween!

One of the girls took this picture of our dog Juke. I thought it was fitting for Halloween!

A Quick Trip to Victor

A couple of weekends ago we made a quick trip to Victor to check on the cows, work the calves and bring the bull home. It was a beautiful autumn day. Jauncee spent the afternoon playing with Tel and Jeslyn got to help. She is Dirk’s right hand man—pretty good help when she wants to be! And Clay got to right a horse with his daddy for his first time. All in all it was a was a quick trip but it was fun and totally worth the time being all together.Align Center

8 mile - Cold Springs Canyon

One Sunday afternoon in late September we went for a little drive up Cold Springs Canyon. The drive was beautiful and the weather was perfect. We all even went for a little hike! It was fun, I wish for more days like these.

I think the sling is a bit small for his daddy! But they managed well on the hike.
