WOW!

Jeslyn participated in the 2008 Reflections Contest; she entered an entry in the art, literature and photography categories. The theme this year was “WOW…!” Jeslyn did exceptionally well; she took 4th place in literature and 2nd place in photography. Here are her winning entries:

Literature:

A Beach

Once there was a beach. There were people who lived on the beach. They slept in the sun. It was called Alaska. It was beautiful. They loved to watch the sunset and go for walks in the sun. One day the sea was beautiful, everyone on Main Street came to the sea. Suddenly something came out of the sea. A big whale. It was so big! Everyone thought it was amazing. The whale was mean but the people did not care. Then it just swam away and all the people went walking in the sea.

The End!

Jeslyn worked really hard on her entries - I am so proud of you Jes, Good Job!

My Sugar & Spice & Everything Nice

My sugar and spice and everything nice, as anyone can see – You’re the dearest kind of daughter that there could ever be!

My sweet little Jauncee turned 4 on Monday. It was a bittersweet day for me – I am so grateful and happy for the cute good little girl that Jauncee has become; and sad at the same time that my baby is already 4. Where does the time go? I remember the day she was born like it was yesterday. Things sure have changed since then!

Family and friends gathered to celebrate the special occasion. First all the kids went swimming at the pool; then we all met up at our house for pizza, cake & ice cream; where others joined in the fun! The highlight of the night was the piƱata. I am not sure if Jauncee actually got to open any presents or not I think everyone else did it for her – good thing she didn’t mind. Jauncee got a lot of really nice gifts. A big thanks to all who came and showed their love for my little one – she loves all of you so much! I am very grateful as a mother for the number of great people in her life.

I love you Jauncee – you are my special little angel! Happy 4th Birthday! – Love Momma

Coming to an end!

Sunday – the girls and I watched several Christmas movies and I did 6 loads of laundry in an effort to be prepared for my work trip to Vegas. We also enjoyed a couple of hours at the park playing. As the evening approached a feeling of somberness overwhelmed me.

Saturday – the girls had a Gillins Family Christmas Party. It started out at the movie theater enjoying a matinee of Madagascar 2. Then they took a hay ride through the park. Next, they saw Santa Claus followed by a dinner at Grandma Connie’s. After dinner they all loaded up and yep – went bowling in Delta! I accompanied them for this. It was fun, a lot less crowded than the night before. After bowling they all met back up at Grandma Connie’s in Fillmore and exchanged gifts and had banana splits.

The view on the way!
