A Special Day for a Special Girl!

Jeslyn…you are 8 years old! It’s hard to believe how much you have already learned. You’re growing so tall and becoming a young lady; and now it’s time for your baptism. As you have studied the gospel you have learned the difference between right and wrong and you are choosing to do the right things. Being baptized is a very good choice, a choice that will take you closer to your Heavenly Father. Remember how much you are loved.

Always remember the day you were baptized! Remember how many people love you and how proud we are of your decision! Congratulations on taking this important step.

Jeslyn was baptized and confirmed by her father, Colby!

After the Baptism, we all went to the park for a party. We enjoyed good food as well as good company. It was evident by all who came that this little girl is so special and so loved. Big thanks to all those who came and who participated in the program as well as those who furnished food for the party. Jeslyn will tell you that the day was very special; the best ever! She is so cute; she told me that she felt so clean! She started asking a lot of questions about the day that I got baptized. I must be getting old, but I don't really remember too much of it. It was a great opportunity for me to encourage her to write in her journal so she can always have the memories of her baptism. It was also a great way for me to get her to practice writing, something she is good at but doesn’t do enough of. I must admit, and I am somewhat embarrassed to, but I forgot to bring her clean, dry panties for her to change into after she was baptized. What a great mom I know…who would forget that? Apparently me! So she had to wear wet ones for the rest of the program. I think once she got outside they dried pretty fast! Sorry, Jeslyn!

ROCK TO THE TOP...Mini Drill Camp

Both girls participated in mini drill camp, a fundraiser for the Selgaes. They went to dance practice Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Friday they performed as the halftime entertainment. They both are so cute and did a fantastic job!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY - JESLYN!

Happy Birthday to my sweet little Jeslyn! She turned 8 on August 26th. She has been waiting for this day to come for a long time. She can hardly wait to be baptized. The end of August is a hard time to celebrate a birthday; it always seems so busy with the starting of school and all extra curricular activities. This year with her Baptism up and coming on the weekend, we decided to celebrate with a little family party in Holden. Grandma Jill made her favorite—Sloppy Joes, along with cake and ice cream. It was delish as usual! Then we had a quick session of opening presents but she had to unwrap quick because we couldn’t stay too long; Jeslyn had her interview with the bishop for her baptism. I hope it was a memorable day for her…She is so special in so many ways. I think as her mom, because she is the oldest and I expect more, I am a little bit harder on her than I am on Jauncee. I don’t mean to be. I love you Jeslyn with all my heart and am so proud of you in so many ways. You are such a great example to me as your mother. I hope you will always know how much I love you and want the best for you in all things! You will always be my special little angel!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESLYN!

First Day of School

Wow, time sure flies when you’re having fun! I can hardly believe that school has started it seems like yesterday they were getting out for the summer. I am looking forward to getting back in some sort of routine, something we haven’t had for the past couple of months. I have or should say had, a night owl on my hands but not anymore, it’s time to start getting to bed early—WooHOO to that!

Jauncee takes Pre-school from Miss Christy and started on Tuesday August 25, she loves Miss Christy and couldn't wait!

Jeslyn started school on August 19. She is in the 2nd grade, her teacher for the year is Mrs. Monroe. I had the opportunity of going with her on her first day to see her classroom and to eat breakfast. It was a lot of fun!

I love you girls!

The newest member of our family!

Well thanks to my beloved brother...we now have a puppy! Jake gave Jeslyn this cute little fur ball for her birthday. The girls call here Lily; she is pretty cute but let me tell ya, she whined all night the last 2 nights! Let's hope she gets over that soon! I love seeing my girls happy and smiling so in the long run it will be worth it I hope!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA TURNER

Today is my Grandma Turner's 83rd Birthday. We all are so blessed to have her apart of our lives. She is such a sweet, loving person. We love you so much Grandma, we hope to have you around for many more years to come!

We celebrated her birthday Monday evening in Holden, all family living relatively close came for the special event. The evening was filled with great food and great company. For all of you who couldn't make it...you all were missed. My mother is always such a great host and everyone pitched in brought something. I ended up going to the party starving, which was the wrong thing to do because I ate so much I was sick! It was fun getting to see everyone.

This trampoline is 25+ years...I was getting nervous. The kids all seemed to have fun and got along great together. And, the trampoline survived!

The designated cooks! The burgers were yummy, cooked to perfection!

Looks like they are all having a great time !

Wonder what she was up to? I think she ate like 10 cupcakes, well she ate just the frosting. I love this little one. She always wants to see the picture after I take it. Oh boy, she did not like it, she was kind of mad about it. Good thing she is too young to know that I posted it. Ahh, I love it, I love her!

DOWN ON THE FARM

I have been terrible about updating my blog lately! So many things have happened as well as there being so many changes yet to take place!

This post is long over due and took place back in July while my sissy Ginger was still here. My dad is such a great papa to all of the grandkids…I had to take a minute to brag about him and share some pictures of the kids having a grand ole time! He is so patient with all of them and loves each and everyone. I would dare bet that he is their most favorite papa in the world! I am grateful for the opportunity that my girls have to be able to spend time down on the farm!

My dad took all 3 kids in the tractor all the way from Holden to Hawbush which is approximately 7 miles! I am certain they all probably wanted to help drive. How he did it, only they know! =)
