WOW! The past year has gone by so incredibly fast!
A couple weeks ago, Dakota hit the twelve month mark…THE BIG
FIRST BIRTHDAY! I seriously cannot believe how fast time flies. On one hand I
can’t wait until she starts walkin’ and talkin’, but on the other…I don’t want my
baby to grow up. I love her little babbles, her clumsy reach, and her crab-like
crawl. It will be exciting though when she can share her words, giving us all a
glimpse back into our magical childhood view of the world.
Dakota at 12 months weighs 20 lbs. and is 28 in. long. Although
she is petite, she has chubby little thighs, cheeks you want to squeeze, eyes
you could stare at for hours, a smile that warms your heart, a personality that
goes for miles! She seems a bit frustrated since she can’t walk yet! She is chatting
up a storm and trying best to communicate with everyone and sometimes it is a
bit bossy. I am hoping it is because of our lack of understanding. She loves to
read and turn the pages by herself. I think she might enjoy daddy’s “cattle”
reading material the best! She insists she feeds herself and for the most part
seems to like everything. I can’t even imagine life without her. She is the
spice in our day and gives our family that little punch of attitude to keep us
all alert and on our toes!
Dakota has a catalog of different smiles and facial
expressions, for each person or occasion and every single one still melts me,
every single time.
Dakota has a giggle, that turns into a squeal, that turns
into a scream. This is the most infectious sound on earth.
Dakota has the cheekiest little twinkle in her eye and at
the same time is the cuddliest little munchkin. She is always up to something.
Very mischievous!
Birthday Celebration!
Birthday Celebration!
11 MONTHS
No way, no how! The last 11 months have been wonderful.
Dakota truly has found her place in our family of 6. She is such a sweetheart
and a cuddle bug. Dakota loves her big brother and big sissies! She love to play
with them and aggravate them; she loves to make them laugh and worries about
them when they cry; she loves to chase them and wants everything they have. In
other words, she fits right in with them! She is cruising all over the place,
but has her own unique way of doing it! At 11 months we have been so lucky to
have avoided any and all sickness up to this point. I hope we can continue to
keep her healthy. Dakota is such a happy easy going baby. We all love her so
much!
10 MONTHS
Month 10 and I am already at a loss for words.
There is so much that you do, so much that change on a daily
basis, and so much love that grows with you.
This month you have turned into a little girl. You look like a toddler,
act like a toddler, you just don’t toddle by yourself yet! There are so many
cute things that you do that blow our minds that I have stopped writing them
down. I only hope I can remember a fraction of them. This month you decided
that you are officially done with baby food. You want whatever we are eating
and whatever we are drinking. You have also boycotted spoons all together and
will simply do it all by yourself! You also have really started saying mama,
and saying it a lot. The way you say it is so cute, I love it! You are so smart
and catch onto things with lightning speed. I love seeing you figure out how
things work. I am very intrigued at slowly learning and discovering WHO you
really are.
9 MONTHS
You weigh 18 lbs. and are 26.5 inches tall.
You are finally a MOVER! You figured out your own way of
crawling and getting around to where you want to be. You are so much fun and
have such a big personality. You are very easy going and enjoy being surrounded
by all your family. You are a very adventurous eater and look forward to your
time in the high chair daily. You seem to always be hungry! Relaxing in your
swing will keep you happy for long stretches of time. Great for momma to get in
her workout. You have 4 teeth and have only bitten me once! I think I scared
you by my reaction. You love, love, LOVE music. You will usually stop whatever
you are doing to find where the sound is coming from then you join in with your
own humming. I think you might be our little singer and dancer. You give the
best kisses! Open mouthed slobbers on the cheek. Nothing so gross has ever felt
so sweet. You make our world such a better place to be.
8 MONTHS
Should I be getting teary eyed about my babe being 2/3 of a
year old? I can say that I have honestly enjoyed every age and stage as it
comes. No rush to get to the next milestone, just enjoying the very moment! You
love tummy time and would rather be on your tummy playing than sitting up. You
are very expressive. Funny faces are a daily occurrence. You love to babble and
whisper to yourself. I love your sweet giggle, it melts my heart. You are the
best little eater! Thank you Plum Organics! You are the best traveler in the
car! We drove all the way to Billings MT and back and you only made a peep
once. It was amazing and impressive. You are very secure in your surroundings
as long as one of your family is within eye view. I love that you have so much
trust in me. It makes me feel good about the “mothering” I am doing. You bring
us so much and love you to pieces!
