The JOYS of June

June quickly came and went and now is a mere memory!

Life was a bit slower paced, so we took the time to enjoy it! I love the summer months and although it can get a bit on the warm side, it sure beats 2 feet of snow!

This little guy had played hard all day and was tuckered out. I put a movie on for him while I cooked dinner and before I pushed play he was fast asleep!

Jeslyn had a couple horse 4H classes. Afterwards, she had the itch to wash Pinto Bean and braid his mane and tail.

Jeslyn and Jauncee "fighting"!

The lilacs were in full bloom this year! It was a beautiful sight, and smelled wonderful and fresh.

I started potty training Clay back in mid April. He really wanted a bike so I put a picture on the fridge of a bike to remind him of the reward he could get if he could master the bathroom and be a big boy and were undies. I am proud to say--he accomplished his goal!

He calls it his Itcycle!

With the 90 degree + days, we decided we needed a way to keep cool...so we bought a pool!

And had FUN in the SUN!

We also made the annual trek to Victor to drop cows off for the summer.

 The summer keeps slipping away!

Growing TOO FAST!

Little Miss is now a whopping 20 weeks old. I seriously can't believe the changes that have taken place in the last couple of months. Everyday she gets bigger, sweeter, stronger, and even louder.  At her 4 month check up she weighed 13 pounds and 10 ounces and was 24 1/2 inches tall.
Dakota has been "talking" up a storm. It's so loud that sometimes you can't hear anything over it. I'm interested to see if that translates to a talkative kid. We may just have a chatterbox on our hands!

Dakota at 3 months!

And Dakota in between....

4 months!

She really is growing up fast...too fast for my liking! I just love, love, love this stage!
(I say that about every stage)
She grabs toys, and her toes, but really likes admiring her hands. She can put lots of pressure on her leggies, laughs quite a bit, and is getting closer to sitting up by herself. She would amaze you with her rolling skills; everybody tells me she is going to take off crawling soon and I say NOOOO! She is only 4 months, but a determined 4 month old. I don't want that yet. I want her to stay little for a while longer! She is still sleeping through the night and is probably the most pleasant baby I have ever been around. She is just good, all the time!

We all love her so much!
Dakota, you are such an angel and a blessing to our family. We love you!

Catching Up

I was going through my pictures the other day and realized I forgot to blog about a few different activities that we had going on.

Jeslyn had a piano recital back in May and did a super fabulous job...as usual! She played Reflections In the Pool, solo and Gypsy Fiddler, a duet with her awesome teacher.

Jeslyn also had a huge school project where she had to do a 22 page essay on a state within the USA. She chose Georgia. Along with the essay she had to do a poster and a shoe box float representing her state. On the day of presentation aka "The World Fair" she had to dress-up like something or someone that represents her state as well as serve a food item famous there. Jeslyn dressed up as a Native American because Georgia was settled by Cherokee Indians. For her food item she served pie- peach, pecan, and apple. Jeslyn did very well on the project! But it was a lot of work!!

Next year we get to look forward to a country in South America! Wahoo!!

On the last day of school the elementary held it's AR Award Program. Depending on how many points you made for the year and if you made your goals for each term then they rewarded you with prizes. Jauncee made off with a haul.

The Elementary School also had field day that morning and these are Jauncee's ribbons. She is a go-getter that is for sure!
1st - Long Jump Rope
1st - 40 Yard Dash
2nd - 3 Legged Race
2nd - Gunny Sack Race
2nd - 20 Yard Dash
2nd - Iron Man
2nd - Short Jump Rope

Softball

The beginning of June ended with softball.

This year Jeslyn played on a Soda Springs team, where she actually learned some new skills and techniques. I am very proud of her. She has accomplished things that I know I never could. I really admire her ability to join a group of girls not knowing anyone and being able to make friends and feel comfortable in her own skin. That is a BIG deal!

I tried to watch most of all the games, but at times I found myself entertaining kids! Which I didn't mind.
