Cow-Topia

For the last several months it feels we have been living in Cow-Topia! From feeding, to calving, to tagging, to vaccinating, to sorting, to branding, to vaccinating again, to sorting, to turn out, to gathering, to sorting another time, to AI'ing, to turn-out, to more AI'ing, to hauling, to fence fixing, until final turn-out with each group of cows with the mated clean-up bull!  That is a mouth full and exhausting thought. The actually work itself isn't easy either, especially if you are a 1 man band like my sweet hubby. This year we currently have 5 groups of cattle sorted off to pasture. Sometimes it feels there is no end in sight, but alas, it is the 3rd week of June and everything is finally turned out.

Being extremely pregnant I did not document in pictures every detail of the day to day happenings of Cow-Topia. I did however, get pictures of our annual branding event. One that is a family affair with the help of some great neighbors. We always treat them to a delectable gourmet lunch for payment of  their services.

We had a little mischief going on this year with all the hats!

Once it started pouring down rain, we intervened for lunch.

The two days the kids get ample pop - sale day and branding!
