Birthday Wishes - Dakota Rae

Happy Birthday Dakota Rae!

Dakota turned 2 on Sunday, February 15, 2015. We celebrated with a party on February 14th.

Dakota is obsessed with monkeys so naturally we had to make her a monkey cake.

Monkeys and all things animals are her favorite. So we all wore masks to celebrate the special event.

We had originally planned to have her party on her birthday, but the missionaries which we were feeding on Valentine's Day canceled at the last minute and wanted to come the next day instead. So we quickly shifted gears, made a cake, decorated, wrapped presents and had a PaRtY! It was a long busy day, but Dakota had a lot of fun and got completely spoiled!

Oh my Sweet Dakota Rae,
Happy Birthday My Love!
I can't believe it's already been two years. It feels like yesterday I was anxiously awaiting your arrival in the delivery room.
What an amazing whirlwind it has been!
I have watched you grow from a tiny needy newborn, to an independent, determined, self-assured little girl who has her mind made up about absolutely everything.

In your two short years, you have taught me so much about being strong and believing that you can do something even when the mountain in front of you seems insurmountable.
I got it Momma!
I can already see traces of the woman you will eventually become, and I can tell that you are going to be a force to be reckoned with.
I hope I can always help guide you in the right direction. I hope I allow you enough freedom to make your own decisions. In the meantime, I have loved every single second of watching you learn and explore and grow. You are turning from a baby to a child far too quickly, I hate it.
I would love to keep you exactly how you are at this moment forever, but I know I can't. What I can do is cherish every single second of right now. Savor your high pitches and tickle your thighs and everywhere else.
I have no doubts that you will conquer every obstacle in your future. You are wonderful. You are amazing. You are worthy. You are gorgeous. You are you!
AND I LOVE YOU! Forever and always,
Momma
