The Big 14!
 August is the big birthday month here at our house.
Next year we are going to pick a couple days and celebrate with ONE BIG BiRtHdAy BASH!
This year we celebrated individually and depending on the day that your birthday fell on weekday/weekend determined the celebration. I know that sounds unfair and in some ways it was, but with a brand new baby in the house, we weren't going to go too far or do anything to strenuous.
Jeslyn's birthday fell mid-week on a Wednesday. She received a beautiful bouquet of flowers delivered to school. We also celebrated that night with dinner of her choice and a cake. It was suppose to be a volleyball. I really need to work on my cake making skills!

 

In honor of Jeslyn aka Gary, Jeff, Win, and Gil (all nicknames by her siblings) I am going to list 14 things about this sweet girl! They are in no particular order.

1. Jeslyn has a beautiful smile that is very contagious!

2. Jeslyn is very loyal and a great friend.

3. Jeslyn is a great big sister and loves her younger siblings fiercely.

4. Jeslyn is a great pianist and enjoys playing. She feels the music, which is very important.

5. Jeslyn is a fantastic babysitter!

6. Jeslyn loves to read and tends to get lost in books for hours.

7. Jeslyn is a true blonde and has her moments, with that being said she is fun to be around and makes you laugh.  She is never too serious.

8. Jeslyn has a heart of gold and is always kind and inviting to the underdogs.

9. Jeslyn loves animals and enjoys showing steers. 

10. Jeslyn is smart and does well in school, when she tries.

11. Jeslyn is very open and honest with me as her mother and tells me almost everything. I admire this trait. I am so glad that we are close and she trusts me.

12. Jeslyn is very complimentary of others.

13. Jeslyn is very forgiving and is quick to apologize.

14. Jeslyn is Jeslyn! True to herself and isn't to worried about fitting in or being a part of the popular crowd. She is her own individual self and is true to her standards and beliefs. 

We all love Jeslyn so very much and are so grateful for her and her sweet spirit in our home. We couldn't imagine life without her. I can't believe we have only a little less than 5 years left with her before she heads off to college. Let's hope times slow down!
