STAR STUDENT!

Every week Miss Weights class has a star student, this week Jeslyn gets to be the STAR! She is very excited she got to take a Me Bag full of items that make up her individuality. Some of the things that she took correlated with her history. Jeslyn's favorite part about being the Star Student is getting to sit by Miss Weight at lunch on Friday! What a great teacher Miss Weight is; she has a way of making each student feel special! Here is what we wrote for our STAR - JESLYN.

Jeslyn was born in Beaver on August 26, 2001 and it just so happened that she was born at 7:12 p.m. and weighed 7 lbs. 12 oz. Jeslyn has one younger sister named Jauncee who is 3, and even though at times they don’t get along, she is still her best friend.
Jeslyn discovered at a young age her love for animals. Some of her favorite animals include: her horse, Charlie, her 2 dogs, Peso and Clover, and her cat, Flower. She really takes a special interest in caring for them. In fact, Jeslyn has such an interest in animals she hopes to become a veterinarian someday.
Jeslyn likes to collect stuffed animals. A couple of years ago she started collecting build-a-bears and now has a total of 11. She even had a build-a-bear birthday party! Everyone invited got to stuff and dress their own bear. It turned out to be Jeslyn’s best party yet.
Apples, artichokes, steak, shrimp and Subway sandwiches are some of Jeslyn’s favorite things to eat. She also has a sweet tooth for chocolate. Whenever she goes to her grandmas they bake chocolate brownies. Jeslyn knows the recipe by heart.
Some of Jeslyn’s favorite activities include: reading, writing, swimming, riding horses, taking pictures, dancing, tumbling and playing with her cousins. Jeslyn has been working really hard in her tumbling class and can now do a back hand spring.
This past year, Jeslyn got to go to Disneyland, Sea World and the ocean. While at Disneyland she had the opportunity to meet Belle, Cinderella, Pocahontas, Snow White and several other Disney stars. Her favorite ride was Splash Mountain! Sea World was also very exciting, especially Shamu the whale.
The highlight of her summer was going to stay with her Aunt Ginger for a week. While there they visited the zoo, went swimming, and Jeslyn got her first manicure and pedicure at a salon. She had so much fun she didn’t want to come home!
Being friendly, kind, honest, sincere and courteous are some of the qualities that Jeslyn has. She always makes it a point to try her best. Her family is very proud of her and loves her very much!

What a beautiful, thoughtful and caring young girl Jeslyn has indeed grown to be. Paul, Maggie and I were very impressed at her reading, writing, and spelling skills. She took the marker right away to write on Max's poster all by herself and did a spectacular job. She will always be my sweet little girl. I can't wait for another visit.
