Palisades

Dirk’s family was having their annual family get-together over Labor Day weekend at Palisades. We went up on Saturday for the day. I couldn’t wait to get on the water and then possibly in it if it wasn’t too cold. Palisades Reservoir is a picturesque body of water in Eastern Idaho. The reservoir is nestled between two mountain ranges and is a beautiful setting where wildlife and nature thrive in abundance. We have passed by this body of water so many times I have lost count and every time I day dream about being out on the water and enjoying the beautiful outdoors. I finally had my chance and it did not disappoint.

Our family (minus Jauncee, she was with her dad) was first in line for a fishing boat ride. Jeslyn and I even dove in! The water was cold but it was so worth it. At least until we had to try to get back in the boat. That wasn’t fun. The fishing boat does not have a ladder or anything to stand on so we had to pull ourselves up and out of the water into the boat!

It was such a peaceful ride, it lulled Clay boy right to sleep!

The day before I had to help Dirk with the cattle so we left Jes unsupervised painting her room! It looked like she had fun by all the paint on her! We had been teasing her all day about it so we just had to capture what little bit we could without her noticing.

Before we left the kids took a shot at the piñata…which was loaded with candy.

It was a very enjoyable day surrounded by family. And I am definitely looking forward to going to Palisades again next year! (Hint, Hint Babe)
